Three Questions To Ask Yourself When Discerning God's Calling On Your Life
Don’t Quit Your Calling.
I have those four simple words on a message board hanging in my office.
Earlier this week as I prepared for the opportunity to speak at the 1st Annual South East Kansas Women in Ag Seminar, I played “Fill My Cup” by Andrew Ripp. I knew I needed my cup to be overflowing in order to successfully pour into the women at the event. I also knew there was no amount of preparation that would make me feel as equipped or confident enough to deliver a message that would resonate & stick with the audience without the help of God himself.
So I prayed & praised & worshiped Him in all the preparation leading up to that morning. I prayed for help with my time management & about which stories to share. I turned up the praise & worship music loud while I applied my make up and curled my hair. I sat in silence & talked to God for most of my 30 minute drive to the event. I drew near Him in every way I knew how. Not because I was nervous, but because I wanted to deliver on an opportunity I knew He orchestrated. One that I couldn’t have known 90 days ago was in the works, but God did.
You see, He was already preparing me for this moment then - by giving me the courage to say "Yes" to something that was new for me allowing me to practice prior to this event. It’s hard for me to even comprehend at times how God does what He does. What I know to be true though is this: He is in the details. He is all powerful & He cares about me {& you, friend}.
When God calls you, He will equip and prepare you to effectively complete your assignment on time. He will use every aspect of who you are and where you came from to bring about His will in your life.
Here are three questions to ask yourself when discerning God’s calling on your life:
1️⃣What am I passionate about?
2️⃣What gifts has God given me?
3️⃣Where do I have the greatest opportunity to love others?
Ephesians 4:1-6 says, "As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love."
Don’t quit your calling, my friend. Draw near to Him & pray for His guidance.
I'd love to join you in praying over the calling God has put on your life. I hope to see your email with how I can specifically pray for you in my inbox soon.
